Nearly 60% of Madison countians now vaccinated

Madison County has recorded 105 new COVID-19 cases and three new deaths in the past week, according to the Mississippi State Department of Health’s Wednesday COVID-19 report.

Madison County has now recorded 14,419 COVID-19 cases and 277 deaths since the pandemic began in March 2020, according to MSDH.

Madison County continues to have one of the state’s highest vaccination rates with 65,232 or 61% of people having received one dose of a vaccine and 60,064 or 57% of people having received two doses.

Statewide, since the pandemic began in March 2020, 283,313 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been recorded by the MSDH along with 209,245 probable cases, totaling 492,558 cases. There have been 6,546 confirmed COVID-19 deaths, along with 3,222 probable deaths, totaling 9,768 deaths.
