MRA receives third straight All-Sports designation

The MRA athletic department was recently awarded their third consecutive MAIS 6A All-Sports, given to the classification’s school with the top athletic programs during an academic year.

The Patriots won nine state titles and brought home two runner-up finishes throughout the year in all sports.

“The MRA Athletic Department proudly announces that the Patriots have claimed their third consecutive MAIS 6A All-Sports Award, amassing an impressive 96 points during the 2024–2025 school year,” MRA Athletics said in a statement. “These achievements reflect the unwavering commitment, talent, and teamwork of our student-athletes and coaches.”

The MRA Cross Country program saw its girls’ team win their eighth consecutive state title and their boys’ program win their second title in three years.

MRA Volleyball made history, winning their first state title in school history and knocked off powerhouse Jackson Academy in the state title match.

The MRA Dance team won their sixth straight state title in the Game Day Performance Division.

MRA’s softball and swim teams also added state runner-up finishes to round out fall sports.

In spring sports, MRA’s archery team captured their fifth consecutive state championship.

The Patriots saw continued dominance from its track and field teams, with the girls’ program winning its seventh straight state title and the boys’ team winning its sixth straight state championship. 

MRA also captured their second consecutive state title in golf and its girls’ tennis team won their first state title in program history. 

The MRA athletic department totaled 96 points, defeating second place Jackson Prep, who finished with 74 points. Jackson Academy finished with 72 points and Madison St. Joseph finished with 12 points to round out Madison County area MAIS 6A schools.
