Monkee’s thriving at Renaissance at Colony Park

Following their August opening, Monkee's in Renaissance at Colony Park looks to differentiate themselves with a versatile line up of boutique clothing and excellent personable service.

Monkee's of Ridgeland owner and operator Suzanne Ketchings said that the store has been open for just over a month.

"Everything has been just absolutely wonderful since we opened," Ketchings said. "The community has embraced us and this a great place to own and operate a business. I have enjoyed meeting all the new customers and getting the opportunity to show the store off."

Ketchings is a native Mississippian who grew up in North Carolina, where the first Monkee's store was founded in 1995 and the franchise is headquartered. She has been an enthusiastic Monkee's shopper for many years. After moving back to Mississippi and attending college and law school at Ole Miss, Ketchings decided to fulfill her dream of owning her own business.

"Always my go-to for every occasion, I love the comfortable, stylish and fun atmosphere Monkee's stores offer. Coupled with my love of everything fashion, Monkee's was a natural fit," said Ketchings.

She owns the business with her husband, Kyle, and parents Nick and Elizabeth Floyd.

Ridgeland is the first Monkee's location in Mississippi. All of the independently-owned and operated Monkee's boutiques can be found in 10 states, including the four new stores that are scheduled for opening later this fall. The Ridgeland location has five employees including Ketchings.

"We offer the finest shoes, clothing and accessories," etchings said. "We also offer excellent service, making sure we greet every customer, answer their questions and offer advice. The store is designed to feel like you are hanging out at your friend's house going through their closet."

The store is located at 1000 Highland Colony Parkway, Suite 7001.
