Officers arrested Cedric D. Jackson, 29, of Prairieville, Louisiana, and Nicole Danielle Martin, 31, of Addis, Louisiana. Madison Police spokesman Maj. Sanders said the suspects were transported to the Madison County Detention Center where they will be held until their initial appearance in the City of Madison Municipal Court.

The case will be forwarded to District Attorney John “Bubba” Bramlett for prosecution and no bond has been set at this time.

Sanders said that at 2:34 a.m. Friday, April 16, a member of the MPD’s Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Malibu on Interstate 55 northbound near the 109 mile-marker for a traffic violation.

While speaking with the driver, the officer could smell the odor of marijuana, according to Sanders.

MPD seized 16 kilograms of cocaine said to have a street value of $480,000. Sanders said that in addition to the cocaine, they seized approximately 20 grams of marijuana, 14 Adderall pills and 18 Ecstasy pills inside the vehicle.
