Mac Haik employee arrested for embezzling
GLUCKSTADT — A Mac Haik employee was arrested and charged after allegedly embezzling tens of thousands of dollars from the business, Gluckstadt Police say.
The employee, Natasha Manuel, was arrested and charged on Oct. 26 with felony embezzlement.
She was brought before Judge Trae Sims in Gluckstadt Municipal Court on Thursday, Oct. 27, on the charge of felony embezzlement and was given a $30,000.00 bond and has since bonded out, according to GPD Chief Barry Hale.
The department was contacted by Mac Haik on Oct. 24 in regard to an employee alleged to have embezzled around $70,000.00, Hale said. The employee was identified as Manuel.
He said an investigation was started which led to an affidavit being signed and a warrant issued for her arrest for felony embezzlement. She was then arrested on Oct. 26, at Mac Haik without incident, according to Hale.
Hale said he has no further updates at this time on this investigation.
