Mrs. LaJaune S. “Jaunie” Coleman passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Monday June 13, 2022, at SummerHouse Beau Ridge Memory Care in Ridgeland. 

Jaunie was born to Edger and Mabel Smith in Louisville, MS on September 7, 1928. 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years James Melbourn Coleman, and her son James Clifton Coleman. 

She is survived by her son, Jay Melbourn Coleman (Betty Lynn) from Madison, MS, her daughter-n-law Beverly Coleman from Clinton, MS, five grandchildren who dearly loved their “Memaw”. Conner Coleman (Julie) from Springtown, TX, Dr. Corey Coleman (Jessica) from Birmingham, AL, J. Hunter Coleman (Kelly) from Madison, MS, Mallory Coleman from Clinton, MS and Cameron Coleman (Kristina) from New York NY., along with seven precious great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Mason, William, Harrison, Harper, Elizabeth, and Will Coleman. 

Most of her years were spent in Clinton, MS where she raised her family and worked for almost 30 years as the Church Secretary at FBCC. 

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on July 1, 2022 in the old sanctuary at First Baptist Church in Clinton. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Graveside services will follow at Clinton Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Mississippi Alzheimer’s Association or First Baptist Church - Clinton.
