Johnnie Mae Sims Young

Mrs. Johnnie Mae Sims Young, 87 of Canton was called to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Hospice Ministries, Inc. in Ridgeland. She was born September 12, 1932 in Madison County Mississippi to the late Ella Mae Jones and the late Johnny B Sims. She was a longtime employee of Canton Casket Company. Johnnie Mae was a member of Liberty Baptist Church for over 50 years where she participated in various ministries. Funeral Services were held January 25, 2020 at Liberty Baptist Church in Canton with burial in the Onisha Burks cemetery.



She leaves to continue her legacy: son, Sam Young Jr (Lydia) of Lawton, Oklahoma, daughters, Frances Mack (Robert) of Jackson and Vickie Young (Roy) of Houston, Texas; three grandsons, Desmond Young, Rolando Mack and Antonio Mack; two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter. Her husband Sam, parents, sisters and one granddaughter all preceded her in death.
