Jimmie L. Lyles, 88, of Madison, passed away on September 16, 2021 at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson.

A native of Mississippi, Jimmie was born on October 27, 1932 to Robert and Willamena Rawls Lyles. He joined the US Army and served honorably. An entrepreneur at heart, he opened Jimmie Lyles Carpets in 1957 and later worked in construction building homes in Branson, MO. He enjoyed playing golf and working in the yard. Jimmie loved singing and playing his guitar at Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, and Churches. He was a long time member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church and later joined First Baptist Church of Flora.

Jimmie never met a stranger.  He truly loved and cared about all those he interacted with and was most certainly interested in sharing his faith.  He touched so many lives and will, no doubt, be sorely missed.

Jimmie is survived by his wife of 15 years, Jean Lyles, sons, Brett Lyles (Nan) and Darryl Lyles; four grandsons, Jonathan Lyles (Bailey), Nicholas Lyles (Katie), Christopher Lyles and Elliott Lyles; great granddaughter, Charlie Lyles; and sisters, Jane Aaron, Carol Burholt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Leoneze Lyles, brothers, Robert Lyles, Jr. and Charles Lyles.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Natchez Trace Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 pm. Interment will be in Parkway Cemetery in Ridgeland, MS.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
