GPD arrests 1 with stolen gun
GLUCKSTADT — A Jackson man was arrested with a stolen firearm after a traffic stop on the interstate here.
The man, Kaleb Kohl Washington, 20, was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm, according to Gluckstadt Police Chief Barry Hale.
On May 11, around 1 p.m., officers with the Gluckstadt Police Department conducted a traffic stop for careless driving and improper equipment on a vehicle on I-55 northbound just north of the Gluckstadt Road exit.
During the stop, Hale said, a firearm reported stolen out of Jackson was discovered in the vehicle and connected to Washington, who was a passenger in the vehicle.
He was booked at the Gluckstadt Police Department and later transported to the Madison County Detention Center, Hale said.
“We remain committed to keeping our community safe through proactive policing and cooperation with neighboring agencies,” Hale said.
