A Lee County man wanted in Ridgeland on domestic violence and sex charges was arrested in Gluckstadt last month.

The man, Shondell Montez Williams, 43, of Belden, was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated domestic assault, sexual battery, cyberstalking and voyeurism, Ridgeland Police Lieutenant Brett Bertucci said.

According to Bertucci, the incidents occurred on multiple dates going back to October 2024. He said the incidents were reported to the Ridgeland Police Department on Jan. 21.

“No further information will be released in order to protect the identity of the victim,” Bertucci said.

Bertucci said Williams also faces an unrelated federal charge for conspiracy.

His bond is set at $500,000 and he is currently in custody at the Madison County Detention Center.

Williams was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the Sprint Mart on Dees Drive in Gluckstadt.

“I would also like to thank Gluckstadt Police Department for their assistance in this case,” Bertucci said.

Gluckstadt Police Chief Barry Hale said his department received a tip indicating that Williams was potentially in the Gluckstadt area.

Williams was located in Gluckstadt and officers conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of the convenience store, Hale said. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to jail.

“This arrest was made possible through cooperation between the Gluckstadt and Ridgeland Police Departments,” Hale said. “Authorities remind the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”

Hale went on to say, “Thank you to the men and women in blue that go out each and everyday putting their lives on the line to keep our communities safe for everyone to work, live, and visit.”
