Frances Josephine Faust, 92, died on October 1, 2022 at St. Catherine’s Village in Madison, MS. 

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday November 5, 2022 11:00 am at The Episcopal Church of the Mediator/Redeemer 215 N Broadway, McComb, MS. Rev. Victor McInnis will officiate. 

Interment will be in the church columbarium. Josey was the daughter of George Carlisle Hamilton Jr. and Frances Jewelle DeArman Hamilton and was born on February 5, 1930 in McComb MS. 

She graduated from McComb High School and received a degree in Business Education from Ole Miss. She married Neil Millburn Faust in 1954 and they were married 45 years until his death in 1999. 

She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in McComb and later St. Francis of Assisi in Madison, MS. While living in McComb, she was a regular participant in a centering prayer group at the Episcopal Church.  

She was preceded in death by her husband Neil, her parents George and Jewelle Hamilton, her step-sons Boyd Quin Faust (2022) and Nickolas Lea Faust (2021); her sisters Maxyne Anderson Lillie and Nannette Anderson Stephens; her brother Dr. George Carlisle Hamilton III died two days after her on 10/3/2022. 

Later in life, she married a childhood friend Robert McDavid and moved to Terre Haute Indiana. She was widowed June 19, 2018. 

She is survived by her daughters Mary Faust Craft (Ken) of Ridgeland MS, Phyllis Faust of McComb MS , her son Michael Carlisle Faust (Noriko) of McComb, her daughter-in-law Cheri Jackson Faust of Atlanta GA; Three grandchildren Cara Bass (Will) Donaldson of New Orleans LA, Neil Faust (Stephanie) Bass of Nashville TN, Emiko Faust (Joseph) Hemleben of Madison MS; Four great-grandchildren Charlotte Josephine Donaldson, Camille Frances Donaldson, Walter Griffin Bass and Charles Whatley Hemleben. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
