GLUCKSTADT — Two Attala County men were arrested here earlier this month after police pulled them over for illegal window tinting, Police Chief Barry Hale said.

Hale identified the men as Rodriguez Thurman and Keon Demontez Gilliam.

The driver, Thurman, 33, of McAdams, was arrested on a warrant through the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. Hale said Thurman was also cited for illegal window tinting.

Gilliam, 32, of Sallis, was arrested and charged with felon in possession of a firearm. Gilliam has a previous arrest for aggravated assault in Louisiana, Hale said. Gilliam had his initial court appearance in Gluckstadt Municipal Court on Friday, March 15, and was given a $200,000.00 bond.

Gilliam remains in the Madison County Detention Center.

According to Hale, on March 14, at about 1:15 p.m., investigators with the Gluckstadt Police Department observed a black passenger vehicle with extremely dark tint driving through the city.

A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle for a tint violation near the 112 exit of I-55 southbound lane.

The driver was identified as being Rodriquez Thurman and was found to have warrants through Madison County and was placed under arrest, Hale said.

Gilliam was also arrested during the incident after he was found to be illegally in possession of a handgun.
