Elwin is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Della Williams, and brother, Denson Williams.

Elwin is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Williams, of 46 years. Longstanding members of Broadmoor Baptist Church for 48 years, they served the Lord by teaching Sunday school to young children. Through fellowship, Elwin and Ellen developed meaningful, lifelong family-like friendships.

Elwin is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Wendy Hanes and husband Dave of Huntsville, AL and Cindy Abblitt and husband Aric of Grove City, OH; six grandsons, Dylan, Jacob, and Caleb Hanes and Mason, Lachlan, and Parker Abblitt; brother-in-law, Todd Jordan; and several nieces and nephews.

Elwin was born in Bogalusa, LA on September 1, 1948. Upon graduation from Bogalusa High School in 1966, he attended the University of Southern Mississippi where he received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Later, he earned his Master of Business Administration from Mississippi College. Elwin spent the majority of his career specializing in Human Resources at the University of Mississippi Medical Center where he retired.

After retirement, Elwin's hobby developed into a photography business that captured major events including the Oscars, collegiate athletics where he could be spotted on the sidelines, and local events such as legislature meetings and ribbon cuttings. He started his day with his coffee club companions sharing jokes, stories, and milestones in each other's lives. Elwin deeply valued relationships, many phone conversations, and a caring nature demonstrated in gift giving of all types. He could often be found in grocery stores and at yard sales where he would always keep an eye out for food to meet another's need or a "happy" to make someone smile while finding amazing bargains along the way.

Family was his pride and joy, the "center" of his lens. Through book readings, story making, magic tricks, and a sense of humor, he was a fun loving "Papaw".

A stranger to none, a camera in tote, he simply lived life to the fullest.

Due to the current circumstance, the family will have a private graveside service at 11:00 am, Thursday, May 7th, at Parkway Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to show appreciation for the donor organ Elwin received by suggesting memorial gifts be made to Donate Life Mississippi, 4400 Lakeland Drive, Flowood, MS 39232 (601-933-1000) or a favorite charity.
