Jenifer B. Branning’s recent victory in the Mississippi Supreme Court election marks a significant milestone for the state’s judicial system.

A dedicated public servant with a strong background in law and politics, Branning brings a fresh perspective to the highest court in Mississippi and impeccable interity.

As a former state senator and practicing attorney, Branning possesses a unique blend of legislative and legal experience that will undoubtedly enrich the Supreme Court’s deliberations.

Her deep roots in Neshoba County and her commitment to conservative values resonate with many Mississippians, reflecting our state’s cultural ethos.

Branning’s election campaign emphasized her dedication to constitutional conservatism and her opposition to judicial activism.

This stance aligns with the desires of many Mississippi voters who seek a justice system that interprets the law rather than creates it.

Her victory demonstrates the public’s trust in her ability to uphold the state’s legal traditions while addressing contemporary challenges.

Throughout her career, Branning has shown a commitment to public service, serving on various committees in the state Senate and actively participating in community organizations.

Her experience in areas such as business regulation, transportation, and elections will provide valuable insights in cases that come before the Court.

As Mississippi moves forward, Justice-elect Branning’s appointment to the Supreme Court represents an opportunity for balanced and thoughtful jurisprudence.

Her diverse background and strong ties to our community position her well to serve the people of Mississippi with integrity and wisdom in this crucial role.

We can be proud to say that Justice Branning is from Neshoba County and will be dedicated to dedication to constitutional conservatism.

“Thank you, everyone, for your help, support, and prayers over the last several months,” Branning said in a Facebook post. “I’m humbled and grateful for the opportunity to serve you on the MS Supreme Court!”

Branning secured her seat on the state’s highest court by defeating incumbent liberal Justice Jim Kitchens in a closely contested race that advanced to a runoff in December. She won by about 1,440 votes.

After taking the oath of office on Monday, a reception for Branning followed in the Rotunda.

To celebrate at home, Branning will host an event on Monday, Jan. 13, at 1 p.m. at the Ellis downtown. A reception will follow in the Green Room. The public is invited to attend.

Branning pledges to uphold the constitution as it is written, rather than treating it as a “living and breathing document.” She advocates for interpreting the constitution based on its original text and intent, without adapting it to societal changes, and that’s good for the people of Mississippi.
