Drew Brees’ sports bar opening in the fall

RIDGELAND — Drew Brees’ Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux under construction in front of the Costco is scheduled to open this fall.

“We’re hoping to have it done sometime in August or September,” said Jeff Smith, project superintendent for the Walk-On’s chain. “We’ll really make some good progress if the weather stays nice. The ice storm a couple of weeks ago slowed us down a lot.”

The new sports bar was one of two businesses that received approval for the site plan in late 2019 and architectural reviews to join the Costco anchor tenant. It is currently being constructed right next to the Costco off of Highland Colony Parkway. 

The sports bar was unanimously approved by the City of Ridgeland board of supervisors in 2019. 

The new sports bar is part of a chain co-owned by New Orleans Saints quarterback Brees. 

The chain already has locations in six states and cities including Hattiesburg, two in Baton Rouge, New Orleans and more. 

Other locations are planned on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Southaven and Oxford.

As of now, they boast franchise locations in 14 states, including Mississippi, according to their website.
