Christiane "Chris" James Jones

Christiane “Chris” James Jones of Ridgeland died peacefully on the morning of June 14, 2022. 

Chris was born on July 1, 1950, the second child of Tommy and Louise James of Canton. She was a 1968 graduate of Canton High School, and received her undergraduate degree from the Mississippi University for Women in Columbus.  

Chris later received her Masters of Library Science from the University of Southern Mississippi and went on to spend her career at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Biloxi before retiring in 2006. She served as Chief of Library Service, Chief of Health Information Management, and finished her career as Assistant Director of the hospital system. Chris was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Gulfport for over 30 years. 

Survivors include: husband Frank Jones of Ridgeland, son David Jones (Harper) of Jackson, brothers Tom James (Alan) and Harry Lee James (Cynthia) both of Canton. Grandchildren include McCausland (Causey) Grace Jones and William Turner Jones of Jackson. 

Funeral services were held June 18, 2022 at Parkway Funeral Home.
