RIDGELAND – Ridgeland Recreation and Parks is hosting a fundraising bike ride Saturday to support the Children’s of Mississippi Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.

Community Promotions Coordinator Mary Beth McCollouch said the event would be on Oct. 9, at Renaissance at Colony Park beginning at 7:30 a.m.

“Don’t miss this important opportunity to put your pedals to a purpose and cycle out kids’ cancer,” McCollouch said.

The bike ride will begin at the Renaissance on Highland Colony. Distances are tailored for a variety of skill levels, She said. Riders can register for 65-mile, 44-mile, 25-mile and 10-mile road rides or a 31-mile adventure route as well as a kids fun ride on offer.

Proceeds from Cycle Out Kids Cancer will support the renovation fund and help to improve the care of the center’s patients and their families.

The upcoming $2.5 million renovation project will upgrade and expand Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders by adding additional exam rooms, a larger infusion room, and updating the center’s pharmacy.

Participate in fundraising through a donation at online registration, a ticket purchase for the ride day bike raffle, and other ride day activities. Register at ridgelandsportsandevents.com.
