GLUCKSTADT — A Canton man was arrested for credit card fraud here after allegedly making unauthorized purchases with a card he found on the ground at a business last month.

The man, Jamario Williams, 35, was arrested and charged with credit card fraud, according to Gluckstadt Police Chief Barry Hale.

“We remain committed to protecting the community and holding individuals accountable for fraudulent activity,” Hale said. “Thank you for your continued support in maintaining the safety and integrity of our community.”

Hale said Williams was arrested on Jan. 17 on Highway 51 Near Yandell Road.

An investigation revealed that Williams unlawfully used the complainant’s credit card to purchase gas and conducted two unauthorized Cash App transactions to his own account.

Hale said Williams reportedly found the card on the ground at a Subway the previous day.
