Beverly D. Goza, age 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Nichols Center in Madison, Mississippi. A celebration honoring her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the Canton Cemetery in Canton, Mississippi. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Robert L. Goza; son Samuel Sutherland Goza; parents, Earl and Brookie Dennis; and brother Jed Dennis. 

She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Goza Irving and Diane Goza; Also, surviving her are her grandchildren, Jay Irving, his wife, Kathy and daughter, August; Holt Irving, his wife, Lindsey; Zach Walters; Cole Goza, his wife, Allie; and Drew Goza; as well as her daughter-in-law, Michelle Goza and sister-in-law, Dot Dennis. 

In 1935, Mrs. Goza was born in Water Valley, Mississippi, to Earl and Brookie Dennis.  She grew up in Grenada, Mississippi, and graduated from Grenada High School.  She then attended Mississippi University for Women and later earned a Bachelor Degree in Library Science from the University of Mississippi. After marrying Bobby Goza and his graduation from the University of Mississippi Law School, they settled in Canton, Mississippi, where she was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. 

Beverly was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who was affectionately known as Bev. Her children and grandchildren will carry with them the many memories of her wonderful sense of humor, quick wit, and tremendous love of books that she and her husband shared. Their kindness and shared love for animals provided shelter for many, many dogs that needed a home and family. 

In the end, Beverly Goza’s life was her husband, children, and grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
