MADISON — Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi and Baptist Memorial Health Care announced this week a high-quality healthcare experience coming here.

Opening next summer, the two corporations will introduce a new way of thinking about healthcare, a clinic of the future. Dedicated to Blue Cross Blue Shield Members, the entire clinic will be built to create an experience that is not routinely seen in healthcare delivery. It will be less like a doctor’s office and more like a care center committed to a person’s holistic health.

The clinic will take a team approach to health using a patient-first model. Physicians, wellness coaches, pharmacy staff and care coordinators all working together in a unique, integrated approach to delivering primary care.

“This joint venture gives us the opportunity to take an innovative approach to healthcare,” said Jason Little, Baptist Memorial’s President and CEO. “Our collaboration with Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi will allow both organizations to offer patients more complete healthcare with few constraints. We won’t just tell patients where they are, we’ll help get them to where they want to be.”

“We want patients to receive the best care possible by leveraging the power of teams. This new way of thinking will provide an environment that promotes a transformational approach to care and challenges the status quo both in and outside the clinic,” said Dr. Lee Greer, Corporate Medical Director, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi. “We are committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen and enrich the health of our communities.”
