Baseball and Softball Weekly Roundup
With only two weeks left in the baseball and softball season, only two Madison County teams have kept their state championship hopes alive.
Madison Central baseball won game one of their MHSAA 7A semifinal series 6-5 against Tupelo on Tuesday night, improving to 24-7 on the season. The Jaguars will play game two of their semifinal series at Tupelo on Wednesday, with results unavailable at print time. Game three, if necessary, will be at Madison Central on Thursday, with results unavailable at print time.
Tri-County Academy baseball will play for a MAIS 4A state championship this week, after taking two out of three in their South State championship series over Riverfield Academy. The Rebels will take on North Delta School, with game one set for Wednesday at TCA. Game two will be Thursday at North Delta at 5:30 PM and game three, if necessary, will be on Friday at Tri-County at 5:30 PM.
Madison Central softball was swept in their MHSAA 7A semifinal series against Hernando, ending a phenomenal season for the Lady Jaguars. Madison Central finishes the season with a 17-12-1 record.
MRA baseball saw their season come to an end in the MAIS 6A semifinals, following a series sweep at the hands of Presbyterian Christian School. The Patriots finish the season with a 20-14 record.
Jackson Academy baseball fell in a series sweep to Hartfield Academy in the MAIS 6A semifinals, ending their season. The Raiders finish the season with a 21-15 record.
