Barbara Thomson Westbrook

Barbara Thomson "Kieta" Westbrook, 91, of Madison, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2021 at St. Catherine's Village. 

She was born on July 18, 1930 in Anderson, South Carolina. She moved to Jackson, Mississippi where she fell in love with and married William Verdo "Bill" Westbrook, Jr. They were happily married for 58 years until his death in 2008. Keita and Bill were active members of First Presbyterian Church in Jackson where they both taught Sunday school for many years. She joyfully served in the PROS (Senior Ministry) for over 30 years. She was a Life Member of the Junior League of Jackson and a member of the One O'Clock Luncheon Club. 

She is survived by her three children: William Verdo "Chip" Westbrook, III (Patty) of Gulfport, MS, Mark Thomas Westbrook of Jackson, MS, and Holley Westbrook Lacey (Peeler) of Laurel, MS. Grandchildren: Grayson Lacey (Jenny) of Laurel, MS, Lauren Butts (Casey) of Laurel, MS, and Thomas Westbrook of Jackson, MS. Great-grandchildren: Case and Brooks Butts, and Will Lacey of Laurel, MS. 

Funeral services were held November 8, 2021 at Parkway Funeral Home. Interment was in Lakewood Memorial Park.
