Area churches plan Christmas services
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services are scheduled across Madison County this weekend with candlelight services, carols and the Lord’s Supper.
Following is a sampling of Christmas services:
The Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church in Madison will have two Christmas Eve services: A Family Service from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., and a regular Christmas Eve service from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Chapel of the Cross will have their regular Sunday Eucharist on Christmas Day from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
St. Columb’s Episcopal Church in Ridgeland will hold two Christmas Eve services: a Christmas Family Service with a Pageant from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., and a Midnight Mass from 11 p.m. to 12 a.m. St. Columb’s will have their regular Sunday Eucharist on Christmas Day from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The First Presbyterian Church of Jackson will have a Family Carols Service on Christmas Eve at 4 p.m. and one Christmas Day service at 10 a.m.
Highland Colony Baptist Church in Ridgeland will have a Christmas Day Worship Service from 9:30 a.m to 10:30 a.m.
St. Richard Catholic Church in Jackson will have two Christmas Eve Vigil Masses at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. Carols will prelude both. There will also be two Christmas Day Masses at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Madison will hold three Christmas Eve Masses at 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., with caroling 30 minutes prior to each Mass. St. Francis will continue Christmas Day with a Mass at 10:30 a.m.
First Baptist Church of Canton is having their Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m., and a service on Christmas Day at 11 a.m. with carols.
FIRST Ridgeland Baptist Church will have their Christmas Eve service from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., and a Christmas Day service from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Ridgeland will have two Christmas Eve services at 4:45 p.m. and 5:45 p.m., and two services on Christmas Day, a regular Worship Gathering from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., and a Spanish Worship Gathering from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Broadmoor Baptist Church will have two Christmas Eve Candlelight Services from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
First Baptist Church of Madison will have identical services on Christmas Eve (4 p.m.) and Christmas Day (10:30 a.m.). Both services will include Walk to the Manger.
Pine Lake Baptist Church will have three Christmas Eve services at 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 5 p.m. Preschool ministry is available for 24 months and younger.
Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison will have their Christmas Eve service from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., and will have regular Worship on Christmas Day from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
First Baptist Church of Jackson is celebrating the birth of Jesus with a Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m., and will have regular Worship at 10:30 a.m. on Christmas Day.
Parkway Hills United Methodist Church in Madison will hold Christmas Eve Communion from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., and will have a Christmas Day service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with brunch and carols.
St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church will have three Christmas Eve services at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., and 6 p.m. They will have one Christmas Day service at 10 a.m.
First United Methodist Church in Canton will have their Carols and Communion service at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gluckstadt will have two Christmas Eve Masses at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., and a Christmas Day Mass at 8:15 a.m.
