Annual fundraiser benefitting special needs organization Saturday

The 13th Annual Leap 4 The Lily Pad (formerly Run Up for Downs) was created to support disability awareness and raise funds for The Lily Pad Cafe's operating costs. All proceeds will go towards the operational costs of The Lily Pad Cafe. The Lily Pad employs and trains individuals with intellectual & develop- mental disabilities to equip these men and women with the tools necessary to obtain employment by local business- es so that they can not only achieve their full potential but display to the community their abundant talents and abilities. 

With the public’s help and participation, organizers have been able to raise over $700,000 for The Lily Pad. The 13th Annual Leap 4 The Lily Pad will kick off at the green space in front of Methodist Rehab in Ridgeland, MS with a fun run, a 5K run/walk, and a 0.0 race. The Pepsi Food Tent will offer drinks courtesy of Brown Bot- tling Group and food from sev- eral local vendors! Offerings will include live music by The Lonely Hearts, a kid zone including a sensory tent, char- acters, and much more. 

This is a Rain or Shine event. If there is inclement weather, organizers will make announcements if there are changes to the event. 

No pets allowed due to venue and insurance restrictions. 

Packets can be picked up Friday, from 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at the Lily Pad Cafe in Ridgeland
