All-State baseball teams announced
MAIS and MHSAA All-State baseball teams were announced over the last week, with a number of local athletes being honored.
In MHSAA 7A, state champions Madison Central saw pitcher Gavin Parrow and infielder Sanders Ainsworth named to the first team and catcher Landon DeSlatte named to the second team.
Madison Central Head Coach Patrick Robey was also named MHSAA 7A Coach of the Year.
Germantown saw two players named to the second team in 7A, outfielder Jackson Estes and catcher Brayden Quick.
In MHSAA 6A, Ridgeland pitcher Jarvis Woody was named to the first team and Kameron Wallace was named to the second team in the utility slot.
In MHSAA 2A, St. Andrew’s saw infielder John William Walker and Stone Myrick named to the first team.
In MAIS 6A, ten Madison County area players were named to the All-State team.
For MRA, pitcher Aiden Peets, infielder Alex Lambert, infielder Garrett Gardner, and outfielder Reed Sandy were selected for All-State honors.
Jackson Prep saw Kevin Roberts Jr. selected in the utility slot, Parker Puckett selected as an infielder, Major Quin selected as an outfielder, and Cole Gideon selected as an outfielder.
Jackson Academy and St. Joseph had one selection each, with Foster Meacham being honored from JA and Chad Davidson being honored for St. Joseph.
In MAIS 4A, state champions Tri-County Academy picked up plenty of hardware, highlighted by Head Coach RJ Barrett winning Coach of the Year honors and outfielder Crews Albritton winning Player of the Year Honors. ‘
The Rebels also saw catcher Sawyer Petit, pitcher Luke Power, infielder Grayson Rymer, and pitcher Cade Hunt named to the All-State team.
Canton Academy also saw outfielder Sawyer Bates named to the MAIS 4A All-State team.
