A new $4 million preschool and aftercare facility is coming to Gluckstadt in the spring of 2021 that promises to be different.

Madison Premier will be offering care and classes for ages six weeks through 12 years.

“Instead of kids waiting around for their parents to pick them up like typical aftercare, we’ve got special activities planned, such as guitar lessons, fitness, and even tutors,” said owner Jeff Burnett.

Out of 13,000 square feet, 4,000 will be a big activity room for extracurricular activities and the facility will have separate HVAC units in every room with different flooring that’s age appropriate.

“Every Friday, we will have a new replacement flooring which will be sanitized and steam cleaned,” he said. “Since COVID happened, we’ve made sure to put these ideas in place.”

The welcome they’ve gotten on social media indicates the place will be a major success, Burnett said.

Extra things like guitar lessons, art lessons, fitness or tutors will be included, he said. They will start taking applications in October.

Leah Ivey, Burnett’s daughter and co-owner, is excited to be in Gluckstadt.

“With this, there’s going to be more options and you don’t have to drive all the way out to somewhere like Jackson,” Ivey said. “It’s great that we’re going to have a place like this in Gluckstadt.”

Ivey said she hopes the extra activities offered in this program will catch the public eye.

“We’re going to have some really good teachers, and for the aftercare we’ll have some cool activities and opportunities for the kids,” she said. “This won’t be your typical after school care. Being able to have more opportunities than a normal aftercare is the best thing your child can get out of this.”

Madison Premier will be located on Gluckstadt Way north of Callaway’s.
