20 illegals being housed in Madison County

Posted

Over the last two days, agents with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have arrested at least 20 individuals for illegal entry in the U.S. and are housing them at the Madison County Detention Center.

Individuals arrested by federal agencies are typically held at the Madison County jail, though their arrest could have taken place in another jurisdiction — or in ICE’s case — another state.

The 20 bookings into the jail took place on Tuesday and Wednesday, one day after President Donald J. Trump was sworn into office for his second term. Illegal immigration was a key point of Trump’s campaign and following the election he promised swift action by ICE agents across the country to roundup those in the country illegally.

ICE officials were unavailable for comment at this time.

Those currently in custody are:

• Carmen De Los Angeles Garcia-Bravo

Across the country, ICE agents are rounding up individuals in the country illegally for mass deportation.
