Ridgeland police have released new details as they continue their search for two suspects involved in a credit card fraud scam.

Surveillance footage captured by cameras at the Walmart on Wheatley Street show two men purchasing items with fraudulent credit cards in June.

RPD Detective Mike McGahey said Tuesday that the pictured suspects used a stolen credit card at Walmart in Ridgeland for approximately $500.

"They purchased gift cards and a small amount of miscellaneous merchandise," McGahey said.

Ridgeland Lt. Brian Myers said last week that the department is asking for assistance from the public in identifying these individuals. He released the pictures to media on Oct. 15.

McGahey said that they have no new leads at this time, but said they do not believe the crime to be planned.

"I believe they may have found the card somewhere and it was a crime of opportunity," McGahey said.

Anyone with information regarding the identities of either of the two men is asked to contact Central Miss. Crime Stoppers at (601) 355-8477. Tips that lead to an arrest could bring a reward of up to $2,500.

Citizens can also contact Detective McGahey at (601) 856-2121.
