Madison County recorded 102 new COVID-19 cases and two new deaths in the past week, according to the Mississippi State Department of Health’s Wednesday, Oct. 27, COVID-19 report.

Madison County has now recorded 14,668 COVID-19 cases and 281 deaths since the pandemic began in March 2020, according to MSDH.

Madison County continues to have one of the state’s highest vaccination rates with 65,867 or 62% of people having received one dose of a vaccine and 61,082 or 57% of people having received two doses.

Vaccines are currently being administered at Walgreens, Walmart, Kroger and CVS locations in Madison.

Madison County Schools reported eight total active district cases for the week of Oct. 18. The active case percentage of the on-campus population is 0.1%. The school district recorded 15 people quarantining.

Statewide, since the pandemic began in March 2020, 288,875 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been recorded by the MSDH along with 214,791 probable cases, totaling 503,666 cases. There have been 6,737 confirmed COVID-19 deaths, along with 3,322 probable deaths, totaling 10,059 deaths.
