Buddy Walk going virtual to celebrate Down Syndrome awareness
The 19th annual Central MS Down Syndrome Society Buddy Walk is happening at Trustmark Park in Pearl.
This year’s event will celebrate the "Buddies are the Real MVPs theme. It will include programming from individuals with Down Syndrome, special guests, and both team and sponsor recognition.
Like in past years, participants will form teams in honor of their Buddy with Down syndrome. The event will include a virtual community, an online auction, as well as a live-streamed program on Saturday, October 9, 2021.
Over 1500 participants attend this event yearly, forming teams in honor of their “buddies” with developmental disabilities.
The Buddy Walk was developed by the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) to promote the acceptance and inclusion of all people with Down syndrome. The event is the largest fundraiser for CMDSS.
