Madison County overwhelmingly voted against the Initiative 26 or the "Personhood Initiative" Tuesday with more than 68 percent voting no.

While the rest of the state also voted against the initiative to the tune of 58 percent, more than twice as many voters cast ballots against the initiative than for it.

In unofficial results 21,642 or 68.58 percent voted against 26 in Madison County while 9,915 voted for it.

The county's voting mirrored the state on the other two initiatives as they voted in favor of Voter Identification and Eminent Domain. Both passed across the state.
