Germantown-36 Neshoba Central-21

Germantown bounces back from last week's loss with a big win over Neshoba Central. 

Sophomore quarterback Colton Gardner led the team through the air with 211 yards on eight completions. He also threw two touchdowns.

It was the run by committee approach as no running back topped 50 yards for Germantown. Sophomore Nick Barnes carried the ball 14 times for 43 yards and two touchdowns. 

Senior Jerrell Wilder lead the team in receiving with four catches for 72 yards and a touchdown. Junior Tre Davis had three catches for 82 yards. 

On defense both senior Porter Magandy and junior Dequante Peoples’ recovered fumbles.

Germantown is 4-4 on the year and 3-1 in district and will travel to Canton for this week's game.



Velma Jackson-58 Crystal Springs-21

Velma Jackson took home a big win over Crystal Springs to improve to 7-1 on the year and 3-0 in district.

Junior quarterback Diallo Thompson led the team through the air with 22 yards and 11 completions on 15 attempts and three touchdowns. 

Senior Santavis Vaughan led the team on the ground with eight carries for 114 yards and a touchdown. Senior Lamar Harris led the team in receiving with four catches for 173 yards and three touchdowns. 

Sophomore Jordan Harvey caught two interceptions returning one for a touchdown. 

Velma Jackson will travel to Florence to take on McLaurin this week. 



St. Andrew’s-10 Magee-43

St. Andrew’s losses their second game in a row to fall to 5-4 overall and 1-2 in district on the year.

Jackson Academy-49 Presbyterian Christian-14

After back to back losses, Jackson Academy gets things back on track with a big win over Presbyterian Christian.

JA is 6-2 overall and 1-2 in district with losses to MRA and Jackson Prep. Stats were unavailable for the game.

They play Parklane Academy at home this week.



St. Joseph-13 Canton Academy-26

Canton Academy improved to 4-5 overall and 1-2 in district while St. Joseph dropped to the same record after Canton’s win last week. 

Junior Nick Foreman led Canton with 192 yards passing and two touchdowns. St. Joseph’s senior Daniel Clarke had 144 yards passing and no touchdowns. Neither team ran for more than 60 yards as things stayed in the air. 

Senior London Walker led St. Joseph in receiving with two catches for 87 yards. Seniors Shelby Johnson and Chris Rainer led Caton. Johnson had five catches for 69 yards, Rainer had three catches for 68 yards and a touchdown. 

On defense Josh Humphrey a senior for Canton, intercepted Clarke once. 

St. Joseph will stay in Madison and play Puckett this week. Caton will travel to Columbus and take on Heritage Academy.



Tri-County Academy-33 St. Joseph (Greenville)-55

Tri-County falls to 6-3 overall and 1-1 in district after a loss in St. Joseph-Greenville. 

Stats were unavailable for the game.

Tri-County will play at home against Heritage Academy out of Flowood.



Madison Central-17 Starkville-21

It was a tough outing for Madison Central against Starkville as they fall to 6-2 overall and 1-1 in district play. 

Junior Jimmy Holiday was the only real producer for Madison Central on offense with 160 yards through the air and a touchdown. He also ran the ball 26 times on the ground for 144 yards. 

On defense sophomore Creek Robertson and senior Shacobia Luckett caught interceptions. Luckett returned his for a touchdown. 

Madison Central will play Northwest Rankin at home this week.



Ridgeland-54 Vicksburg-30

After a close loss last week Ridgeland bounces back in a big way against Vicksburg.

The Titans are 5-3 overall and 2-2 in district play. Sophomore Zy McDonald completed 10 of his 12 passes attempts for 126 yards and two touchdowns, but it was the ground game on the back of junior Markell Young that got the offense going. 

Young ran the ball 34 times for 268 yards and five touchdowns. 

Ridgeland will play in Philadelphia against Neshoba Central this week.



Canton-28 Callaway-27

Canton played the closest game of the week with a much-needed win over Callaway to move to 5-4 overall and 1-3 in district play.

The duo of Senior Camerone Harris and junior Tyquan Henderson led the team on the ground. Harris ran the ball 21 times for 116 yards, Henderson rant the ball four times for 105 yards. However, it was senior Jontarius Brown and junior Jacobian Morgan that ran the ball in. Brown ran the ball 12 times for 46 yards and two touchdowns. Morgan got two carries for four yards and a touchdown.

Canton play Vicksburg at Vicksburg next week.
