MADISON  Saint Joseph Catholic School seniors Bergen Teeter and Nick Thompson signed scholarship offers today, National Signing Day, to continue playing sports on the community college and university level.

Teeter will play volleyball next fall at Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hannibal, Mo., while Thompson signed to play football beginning next fall at Holmes Community College. Both were standout players during their high school playing career at Saint Joseph.

“These two student athletes are great examples of the hard-working young men and women who successfully juggle athletics and academics,” said Coach Todd Lott, the Saint Joseph Catholic School athletic director. “I know they will continue to do well on the next level.”

Both students signed scholarship offers in front of fellow classmates, faculty, family and friends on Wednesday morning during a brief ceremony in the Saint Joseph Catholic School Fine Arts theater. Lott said he plans to hold a similar ceremony later this semester for athletes in winter and spring sports.
