Madison Central edges Columbus

The Jags (9-3-1) prepare to face undefeated Tupelo in the second round of 6A playoffs after a 28-25 win over Columbus (6-6) in the Jungle last Friday.

Jack Walker completed nine of 17 passes for 120 yards and a 47-yard touchdown to Myles Hopson. Walker also rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.
Gabe Short gave Madison Central two touchdowns and 157 yards on 22 carries.
They had 416 yards of total offense.
The Jags were down 10-7 at the half but outscored the falcons 21-15 in the second half to clinch the win.
The Golden Wave are coming off a 45-28 win against North West Rankin (8-5). Columbus lost 43-27 when they hosted Tupelo earlier this season.
