Canton Academy defeated Marshall Academy by a score of 54-20 in the semi-final game on Friday night.  Marshall struck first and jumped up 13-0 but CA came storming back securing 5 turnovers  and taking control of the game by the middle of the 3rd quarter.  Patrick Sandridge intercepted two passes as did Keyshawn Clanton.  The defensive line put pressure on the Marshall quarterback all night resulting in several hurried throws which resulted in 4 interceptions and several incompletions. The defensive starting front 4 of Brett Lovelace, Bill Lavender, Joe Smith, and Nick Price were named Defensive Players of the Game.

The Panther played well all night and took advantage of the turnovers secured by the defensive unit by amassing over 400 yards of total offense and putting up 54 points. The offensive line provided excellent blocking up front.  Austin Lofton was added to the list of Players of the Game as a result of his effective job of blocking.

Ryan Lindsey kicked 2 field goals on the night and was steady on kick-offs as well and was named Special Teams Player of the Game.

Canton Academy will battle Tri-County for the State- AA  MAIS  Championship on Thursday, November 17th at Jackson Academy.  Kick off is at 2:30 pm. All Panther fans are asked to wear black for the game.
