Janis Rader of Madison, died June 27, 2014. There will be no formal service. Interment will be at a later date at St. Columb's Episcopal Church columbarium. She was born on November 22, 1927 to Juanita and Foet Assaf, in McComb. She attended LSU, then worked for Trifari and Sons in New York. Janis opened the Needlepoint Shop in Chicago. She studied real estate law and was an active member of MENSA. She played in contract bridge tournaments all over the southeast. Janis and her licensed therapy dog volunteered at the local hospital and library while living in Arizona. She is survived by husband of forty-five years, Dick, a sister, Prudence DiVincenzo; a niece; and six first cousins. Memorial donations may be made to your favorite no kill animal shelter.
