James Glover Gibson, Jr., age 85, of Madison, died June 24, 2013, at Hospice Ministries. Services were held Friday June 28, 2013, at Natchez Trace Funeral Home, with burial in Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton with military honors.

Mr. Gibson was born in Oakdale, Pennsylvania and was the son of the late James G. Gibson, Sr and the late Mary Elizabeth Webb Gibson. Mr. Gibson served during WWII and was enlisted in the Merchant Marines and the US Army. He was the President of General Box at the time of his retirement and has resided in Madison since 1990.

He enjoyed golf, playing Bridge and fellowship with his friends. He was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gibson is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lee Gibson; a son, Jimmy Gibson and sister, Elizabeth Drinko. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Tomie Gibson of Madison, daughters, Sue Gibson Shaw, Virginia Sellers Sparks and Jill James Sellers; sons, Alan Gibson and Leon Sellers; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother William Gibson. Memorials may be made to French Camp Academy (1 Fine Place French Camp, MS) or Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
