Mr. Francis Guy Gill, of Ridgeland died Aug. 15, 2014. Mr. Gill was born December 6, 1926 to John and Elta Gill in Johns, Miss. Mr. Gill served his country as a Sergeant in the US Army from May 1, 1945 until December 8, 1946, during the occupation of Japan, where he was a detention guard overseeing Tokyo Rose. After 23 years with the Highway Patrol 23, Mr. Gill was employed by the City of Jackson, as Director of Telecommunications.

Francis leaves behind two sons, John Charles and Francis Ken. He also leaves behind his daughter-in-law and one granddaughter. Services were held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway on August 19 with burial following at Parkway Cemetery.
