Forrest Riley, 50, a native of Flora, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014.

A memorial ceremony celebrating his life was held on July 8 at Flora Baptist Church.

Forrest was born in Houston, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. John B. Riley, Jr. He grew up in Flora and graduated from Tri-County Academy in 1981. After two years of studies at Hinds Community College, he pursued a career in machining and computerized tool manufacturing. He was employed at Intralox in New Orleans. At Tri-County, Forrest enjoyed playing football and was very active in the band. He later played with the 41st Army Band while serving with the Mississippi Army National Guard. Forrest is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John B. Riley, Jr., of Flora; two brothers, John B. Riley, III (Maria) and Benjamin J. Riley (Lenell), both of Dallas, Texas; three daughters, Kathleen, Erin, and Alanna Riley; and their mother Regena Riley of Geismar, La.; a niece, nephews, and many close friends. Memorials may be made to the Flora Baptist Church or the Flora Public Library.
