Thomas Hansell Stewart, D.D.S., 62, of Ridgeland, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at his home.

Services were held Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at Christ United Methodist Church with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Dr. Stewart was born on June 24, 1952, in Jackson, the son of the late Milton Monroe Stewart and Virginia Hansell Stewart. A graduate of Murrah High School, he continued his education at the University of Mississippi.

While at Ole Miss, he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. After graduation, he entered dental school at the University of Tennessee at Memphis where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery. He began his dental practice in June 1978, in Jackson. Dr. Stewart was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Carol Virginia Stewart.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Pillon Stewart, of Ridgeland; son, Clifford Prentiss Stewart (Anna Kathryn), of Madison; son, Clayton McLean Stewart, of Austin, Texas; daughter, Claire Virginia Stewart, of Jackson; brother, Milton Monroe Stewart, Jr. (Carole Crump) Aspen, Colo.; 2 grandchildren, and 6 nephews and 2 nieces.
