Donald Lee Puckett, Sr. of Madison passed away Aug. 1, 2014.

Funeral services were held Aug. 4, 2014, at Natchez Trace Funeral Home, with a private family burial at Archers Chapel Cemetery in Halls, Tenn.

Donnie was born Oct. 4, 1945, in Tampa, Fla., the son of the late Jack E. Puckett and Alma Houseal Puckett. He grew up in Jackson, attended Chamberlain Hunt Academy in Port Gibson and graduated from Murrah High School in 1964. He attended the University of MS where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. From college he went to work in the family business - Building Products Company in Jackson of which he was President. In his younger years he was a member of St. James Episcopal Church.

He leaves his wife of 22 years, Brenda Jordan Puckett.

He is survived by his son, Lee Puckett (Katherine) and his daughter Ashley Puckett Ewing (Chandler) and five grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Barbara Puckett Brasher (Jesse) and Helen Puckett Pennington (Joe) and one brother, Michael Puckett (Sarah) and many nieces and nephews.

Donnie was a member of First Baptist Church in Madison and Palmer Wilks' Sunday School Class.
