Charles Herman Wolverton, 79, formerly of Sebastopol, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Madison River Oaks Hospital. Services were held Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Parkway Pentecostal Church and interment followed in Rosemont Gardens in Jackson. Chancellor Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.

Mr. Wolverton was born Oct. 23, 1933, to Charles and Matilda Wolverton. He graduated from Sabastopol High School and served in the U.S. Army in the 1950's. While stationed in Oklahoma, he attended culinary school.

In his early career he worked in civil engineering. He began in the printing business with Capital Printing and Blueprint, which led to KopyKing, and later became Wolverton and Sons Printing. In his later years he spent most of his time on the golf courses of Shady Oaks, Colonial, and Deerfield. He was a member of Parkway Pentecostal Church in Madison.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wolverton was preceded in death by his brother, Junior. Survivors include his wife, Deanna; sons, Richard Wolverton of Clinton, Eddie Wolverton of Destin, Fla., Craig Wolverton of Pisgah; three stepchildren; sisters, Linda Moorehead of Sebastopol, Audell Dodson of Terry; brothers, Melvin of Philadelphia, Gerald of Madison, and Larry of Sebastopol; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
