    Wednesday, November 15, 2017 6:00 PM In 2015 the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks started the Mississippi Scholastic Shooting Program. This program promotes the youth of today to be the hunters of tomorrow by competing in 3 areas of shotgun events.  Young men and women compete in Sporting Clay, Skeet, and Trap events.  The sport and program are continuing to grow. In 2016 there were seven schools with approximately 100 students participating in the program and now there are ten schools with over 155 students competing.
