The student was charged with possession of a firearm by a minor on school property and was transported to the Yazoo County Detention Center. A date will be set for him to appear in Madison County Youth Court at a later date.

A statement from the Madison Police Department said that at approximately 8:35 a.m., they received information that a 15 year-old male student at Madison Central High School was in possession of a handgun in his backpack.
