MADISON — Police here are seeking the public’s help in trying to identify a man allegedly responsible for several thefts in the city.

Police released photos taken from a trail cam set up showing a man next to a shed on private property who they say stole various items.

“The subject seen in the photos is known to have stolen various metal items over a couple of months,” Investigator Chuck Harrison said. “The subject was caught on camera going into a shed on a fenced-in lot of a private homeowner stealing anything that he could sell for scrap.”

Harrison said the suspect came both during the day and at night.

The suspect is a white male with a thin build who police suspect is between his late 20s and early 30s.

“He had several very distinctive tattoos that can be seen in the photos,” Harrison added.

Individuals with information on the identity and whereabouts of the suspect could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,500 through Central Mississippi Crime Stoppers.
