The DAR Good Citizen program and scholarship contest is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship.

The program is open to all senior class students enrolled in accredited public or private secondary schools that are in good standing with their state boards of education.

The student selected as the school’s DAR Good Citizen must have the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.

Only one student per year may be honored as a school’s DAR Good Citizen.

This year the Annandale Chapter DAR Good Citizen overall winner was Bonnie Hill of Madison Central. Bonnie’s essay was entered in the MSSDAR State Contest and she received a certificate from the state and received a certificate, lapel pin, and scholarship money from the Annandale Chapter.
