Ridgeland Police are looking for suspects in a Highway 51 gas station robbery that occurred Monday evening.

Ridgeland Police Chief John Neal said on Tuesday that Monday, June 17, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Ridgeland Police Department was notified via 911 of an armed robbery having just occurred at Cappy’s Valero convenience store located at 400 US Highway 51.

“Officers responded and met with the store clerk who advised he was cleaning the store when a lone suspect entered the store and displayed a firearm demanding the register be opened,” Neal said.

The suspect directed the clerk to go behind the counter where the cash register was emptied. Neal said the robber made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect fled on foot in a north direction.  No known vehicle description was available.

Neal described the suspect as wearing dark pants, grey hooded sweatshirt, black ski mask and white gloves. He said they have an image of the suspect from store security footage.
