MADISON — Police continue to search for an unidentified black female who is alleged to have been responsible for passing counterfeit and forged checks in December, officials said.
Surveillance footage shows a woman at Origin Bank
Police say the woman entered the Origin Bank branch in Madison on Dec. 7 and cashed a check for $999 before going to another metro area branch to cash a check for the same amount.
“The female on both occasions presented what has been determined to be a fraudulent identification that matched the name on the checks,” police said in a release. “It is unknown what the female was driving and she entered the bank alone.”
Police are urging anyone with information about the woman, including identity and possible whereabouts, to contact Central MS Crime Stoppers at (601) 355-TIPS (8477) or online at www.P3tips.com.
Individuals who provide information that helps lead to the identification and arrest of the woman will be eligible to receive up to $2,500 as a reward.
