Sara Carson Hailey was selected as the recipient of the Smith-Harris Scholarship during MRA’s Awards Ceremony last month.

Mrs. Robin Smith Tucker, MRA class of 1978 was on hand to present Sara Carson with this award.

The Smith-Harris Memorial Scholarship was originally established in 1978 in memory of Periann Smith and Joellen Harris, members of the class of 1980. This scholarship is awarded annually to a rising junior or senior who exemplifies the lives of Periann and Joellen, both personally and as MRA students.

This scholarship honors an MRA student who is: Kind and encouraging to classmates - Affirming and accepting of others - A Friend and compassionate to all - Demonstrates good citizenship - Promotes the Spirit of MRA through a positive attitude at school and in the community.

Emory Ware received the Blackwell Scholarship last month during MRA’s Awards Ceremony.

The Blackwell Scholarship Program is dedicated to recognizing one rising MRA senior who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in their academics, extra-curricular activities, community service, and has an outstanding record of leadership in and out of their school’s community.
