A Camden man will spend up to 60 years in prison after a domestic dispute turned violent in northwest Madison County.

Circuit Clerk judge Steve Ratcliff sentenced Joshua Olive, 26, of Camden to 60 years for two counts of home invasion and two counts of aggravated assault.

On Jan. 1, Olive bit his then-girlfriend Terica Harris in the face following an argument. He returned later that day with a shotgun and broke into the residence shared by Harris and her grandparents.

The girlfriend’s grandmother, Thelma Harris, fought Olive, striking him in the head with her shotgun before dialing 9-1-1.

Olive had left the scene before Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived, but returned two hours later with the shotgun and kicked in the door. That’s when he broke Thelma Harris’s arm in a scuffle and beat her husband Robert Harris over the head with a hammer.

U.S Marshals later apprehended him.
